Pastor Stephen Vogt has been with us since 1985. Born and raised in Connecticut, he got his Bachelor of Arts in literature and the humanities from Concordia College in New York. He earned his Master of Divinity from historic Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri. He did his intern year (a vicarage) in Charter Oak, Iowa. His first parish was Immanuel Lutheran Church of Osman, in Fisher, Illinois. Rev. Vogt is Prince of Peace’s fourth pastor. Prince of Peace was founded in 1963.
Pastor Vogt’s wife is Caren, an education major. She met Pastor Vogt at Concordia, New York. She has taught in parochial and public school settings in New York, St. Louis, Iowa, Illinois, and New Jersey. Currently she consults for the New Jersey District, Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and advises congregations on the ever-changing educational regulations of New Jersey. The Vogts have two daughters who grew up in Hardyston Township; they are also involved in Lutheran education.
Pastor’s hobbies are his garden, historical novels, and movies.
