Who We Are

PicturePrince of Peace is a Missouri Synod congregation in the heart of Hardyston, New Jersey
We’re here for YOU.  Located on the corner of Route  94  and  Wheatsworth  Road  in  Hardyston.   Jesus gave his Church the important task of reaching the nations with the Gospel.  The Gospel is the Good News, the story of Jesus and the cross;  it speaks of how we are pardoned and given peace in the name of Jesus. The Gospel is what we are all about.

We are Lutheran - What does that mean?  To be Lutheran means to be Christian in the most basic terms. Lutherans accept the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.

We came together as a Missouri Synod congregation in 1963 and set apart to be a people of God, giving witness to His love for the world in Jesus Christ. We worshiped in the Hardyston Township school until 1970 when we were able to build the present sanctuary.  We come together for worship each Sunday Mornings at 9:30 AM.  Bible study opportunities are offered during the week, and these change from time to time as needs dictate. The current offerings are listed on the church calendar and in the Sunday bulletin. We would love for you to join us in our journey of faith.

An important aspect of our worship is the Lord's Supper (Eucharist or Holy Communion) in which we receive the body and blood of Christ by means of bread and wine. In this way Jesus becomes our spiritual food for the journey of life. Thus, Christians receive Christ through his Word and sacrament. We would love an opportunity to speak with you about this wonderful journey  of faith to which we are called.
