Prince
of Peace Sunday School
Programs
are available for all ages from 3 to Adult. Everyone is invited
to attend, no previous experience required, just a thirst for
knowledge.
For our
younger students (age 3 – Grade 8) we currently use a station
based system which is broken down into three main stations:
1. Praise
2. Lesson
3. Activity
Each
group will move from station to station on a timed rotating
schedule.
The
Praise Station is where the children lift their voices high
and sing out. During Praise time the children pray; learn new
songs and their moves. It is also where practices for Christmas
pageants and other programs take place.
The
Lesson Station is exactly what it says - here the students
learn and discuss the lesson for the day.
The
Activity Station varies. The students do activities or crafts
based on the lesson. They will occasionally be doing service
projects. (Ex.: baking Christmas cookies for shut-ins.)
We
are using the newly updated Concordia Publishing House Program
“Our Life in Christ”.
With
this program each age range will be studying the same basic
topic (ex. Solomon building the Temple) at the appropriate level.
This allows children to discuss Sunday School lessons at home
as a family.
Confirmation
Students (Grades 7-8) will be using “New U” Magazine
from CPH during their study time. It compliments everything
they will learn during their confirmation classes on Sunday
evenings.
The
Teen Study is geared towards their interests and questions.
Topics vary as all studies are chosen by the Teens. They meet
on the first and third Sundays of each month.
Adult
Studies are also geared towards the interests of the participants
and meets each week in Pastor’s Study.
