ELC News

The Early Learning Center is off to a great start! The children are settling in and feeling comfortable in their classes. There were a few tears (children & parents), but most of those are gone. The staff and I are starting to learn each of the children's personalities. During the month of September the children have been busy learning our 'school rules" and how God made each of us so special! We also took time out of the classroom and enjoyed a beautiful day to the apple orchard!

We are all so proud of the accomplishments they have made in such a short time. It is always very exciting to see the wonderful accomplishments they make through out the year. The staff and I are anticipating a wonderful year with your children.

Looking ahead, in October we will talking about Autumn, Fire safety, the farm and much more. Some other events include Pumpkin picking to Heaven Hill Farm on October 22nd and 23rd. Our annual Harvest festival will be on October 28th & 29th. October will be a busy month as we enjoy God's colorful creations all around us. From changing leaves to Fall pumpkins! Just a reminder that school is closed October 13th.

November will be just as busy at the Early Learning Center. This month we will discuss what we are all thankful for as we are learning about Native Americans, pilgrims and their Thanksgiving feast. The children will be busy learning songs, and making costumes for our Thanksgiving programs. Some of the classes will be making applesauce, cornbread, popcorn and butter for our school feast. Just a reminder that school will be closed November 6th and 7th for teacher convention. We will also have an early dismissal on November 26 at 11:30(no pm classes and after care available till 1:00pm) and school is closed November 27th and 28th for Thanksgiving.

I would also like to send a huge "THANK YOU" to those who helped clean up the building and grounds as we prepared for the first day of school. The staff and I truly appreciate it!

Happy Autumn and God Bless,

Christie Smith
